For parents and guardians
A little help
along the way.
Help with Pipparcel: Learn to Read, its reading activities, and the grown-up controls.
How do we get started?
Start the game and open the first chapter. Listen to the spoken prompt and use the large touch controls to choose sounds or build a word. Use the sound button to hear a prompt again. Completing reading activities helps the garden grow. The opening two chapters are free.
What reading skills does Pipparcel practice?
Pipparcel uses American English to practice letter-sound connections, hearing sounds in simple words, blending, and word building. It is designed for beginning readers ages 4-7, with support from a grown-up when needed. Children develop at different rates; sit together, listen again, and let your child take their time.
Where are purchases and outside links?
Open Grown-ups and complete the parent gate to reach Family Pass, Restore purchases, subscription management, and outside links. A child can continue the free chapters without buying a pass.
Does the game record my child?
No. Pipparcel does not use the microphone or record speech. It has no login, chat, advertising, or third-party analytics SDK.
Does it work offline?
Gameplay and progress work on the device. Apple services may need internet access to load plans, buy or restore a pass, or manage a subscription. Progress does not sync between devices.
Where is our saved progress?
Progress is stored on this device. Deleting the app removes its local progress. Restoring a purchase restores paid access; it does not restore learning progress from another device.
What does Family Pass include?
Family Pass unlocks chapters 3-7; chapters 1 and 2 remain free. Monthly and annual plans provide the same access, and Family Sharing is supported. The game sells no coins or other consumable items. Apple shows the current price, renewal period, and eligible free trial before confirmation.
A subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. A parent can manage or cancel in Settings, under the Apple Account, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
How do I restore access?
Open the gated Grown-ups area and select Restore purchases on the Family Pass page. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. If Ask to Buy is pending, access begins after Apple confirms approval.
Plans are unavailable. What should we do?
Continue playing the free chapters and try again with internet access. Check that purchases are allowed for the Apple Account and device. Restore purchases remains available even when plans cannot be loaded.
Sound is quiet or missing.
Raise the device volume, check the app's sound setting, and check whether audio is playing through connected headphones or another device. Try the prompt's sound button again.
